Promo photos for Kirsty Hawkshaw / Opus III

I’m still in absolute shock that I was just so lucky to meet and shoot two people who influenced my musical journey from my younger days. Kirsty Hawkshaw (Opus III) and Adam F are musical legends in my eyes, most notably with their songs ‘It’s a Fine Day’ and ‘Circles’, respectively. Back in the day, Kirsty’s ‘Fine Day’ vocals ended up being used in Orbital’s ‘Halcyon’ track; an all-time favourite of mine. To prove how much of a small world it is, I’ve even filmed Phil and Paul Hartnoll from Orbital (live on stage, and also an interview for an EPK)… equally such an honour.

To tie in with Kirsty’s new 2024 re-worked version of ‘Fine Day’, she wanted to revive her iconic bald look from the 90’s. To do this she enlisted the help of hugely-talented Jo Grover. I watched in awe as Jo applied the bald cap, and meticulously blended and painted to a point where it was flawless with its macro level of precision and detail.

During the shoot I played around with a few setups including colour gels, optical snoot and more. Really happy with the results!
